 ' Shiro S Parr '

I’m a multi-discipline artist from Rugby, Warwickshire who is mostly self-taught.

I enjoy learning as I create. Currently I am mostly exploring the medium of ceramics.

I’m inspired by nature and stories and like to explore whimsical themes in my work that remind people to find joy in life, but increasingly I'm drawn to making more serious work about the juxtaposition between the human and natural world and the impact it is having on nature as well as on humans.

My work 'Hamlet' was selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2022, the theme of the exhibition was 'Climate'

I work mostly by hand building in stoneware clay and use underglaze and oxides to give natural earthy tones to my sculptures.

I also use a lot of found tools to add texture to my work, stones, shells, tree bark and man made items.

I'm also an illustrator and cartoonist my work is available via Etsy:
