Julie Northover

While many artists may seek stylistic consistency, I prefer my practice to be a journey of exploration, approached with an open mind, giving me freedom to take up new challenges.

It is through experimentation with materials and process that unexpected interactions can occur, which suggest new and different ways of manipulating the piece, transforming while informing allowing the material to dictate the form.

Colour is critical in all of my work as is the interaction of light, form and space. I employ a wide range of traditional, non traditional materials from plastic, glass, metal to paints.

I have always been interested in the human form.

I am currently researching Alzheimer’s Disease. This in itself is taking me on a journey of discovery and understanding.
